Access Bank has firmly refuted allegations regarding the disappearance of N500 million from a deceased customer's account, calling the claims "baseless" and "misleading." The controversy erupted following a viral video posted by social media influencer Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who accused the bank of financial misconduct.
In a statement, Access Bank emphasized its commitment to safeguarding customer funds and maintaining ethical standards. "We take such allegations seriously and have conducted thorough investigations," the bank stated. "No evidence has been found to support these claims."
The bank highlighted that Otse's video misrepresents the situation, noting that all transactions are conducted with transparency and in compliance with regulatory standards. "Our operations are subject to regular audits by independent stakeholders," Access Bank added, reinforcing its reputation for integrity.
Otse's assertions have sparked public outcry, with many social media users expressing concern over banking practices in Nigeria. However, Access Bank urged the public to remain vigilant against misinformation. "We encourage our customers to verify facts before drawing conclusions," the bank advised.
