Verse of the Day

These words from Paul the Apostle carry the same truth in a very direct way: life operates on a principle of sowing and reaping.

Just like in Proverbs—where the one who digs a pit falls into it—Paul explains that whatever we plant in life eventually comes back to us. If we sow deceit, harm, or selfishness, the harvest will reflect that. But if we sow kindness, righteousness, and faithfulness, we will reap blessings in due time.

It’s both a warning and an encouragement:

  • A warning to avoid hidden wrongdoing, because nothing escapes God’s notice.
  • An encouragement that every good thing you do—even when unnoticed—is never wasted.

This hits deep, especially when it feels like others “get away” with wrong or when your own good efforts seem overlooked. God’s timing may not be immediate, but His justice and reward are always sure.

Prayer

Lord,

Help me to be mindful of the seeds I sow each day—through my words, actions, and thoughts. Keep me from sowing anything that brings harm or dishonor to You.

Teach me to sow righteousness, kindness, and truth, even when it is difficult. Strengthen my heart to trust that in due season, I will reap what is good if I do not give up.

Let my life produce a harvest that glorifies You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
