Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Prices to ₦970/Litre
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of petrol, lowering the ex-depot price for marketers from ₦990 to ₦970 per litre. This change, effective immediately, represents a ₦20 decrease and is part of the company's efforts to give back to the Nigerian public as the year draws to a close.
In a statement released on Sunday, Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, emphasized that this price adjustment is a gesture of gratitude towards Nigerians for their support in making the refinery operational. "As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true," Chiejina stated. He also acknowledged the government's role in supporting local enterprises, stating that this reduction complements measures aimed at fostering domestic growth.

The Dangote Refinery, which boasts a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has been pivotal in Nigeria's pursuit of self-sufficiency in petroleum refining. The facility has not only increased domestic fuel production but has also reduced reliance on imported petrol. Chiejina assured consumers that despite the price cut, there would be no compromise on quality: "We assure you of best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable."
