Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo announced that the Federal Government and his administration have formed a joint fact-finding committee to investigate the killing of 16 hunters in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area.
Okpebholo made this announcement while receiving a delegation from Kano State, headed by Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo, who submitted a report from their state's committee that identified survivors, victims, and their families.
The governor conveyed President Bola Tinubu's dissatisfaction with the incident and his commitment to ensuring safety for residents and businesses in the state and country. He emphasized that the incident has highlighted critical issues that need addressing to improve life for all citizens.
Gwarzo expressed gratitude for Governor Okpebholo's earlier visit to Kano and stated that their committee was formed to identify and verify the names, numbers, next of kin, and survivors of the attack, resulting in a report submitted to the Edo State government. He also appealed for a transparent process in addressing the killing of the sixteen Kano State indigenes.
