Controversial Nigerian singer, Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, following his inability to meet stringent bail conditions imposed by an Upper Area Court. The charges stem from a defamation case filed by veteran Fuji musician Akorede Saheed, aka Saheed Osupa.
Portable appeared in court on Monday and was granted bail of ₦1 million with strict conditions. He must provide two sureties: one from the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), and another who owns property in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin with a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
The case originated from a live broadcast on Instagram where Portable allegedly defamed Osupa, claiming he was envious and attempted to sabotage his success by removing his songs from music platforms.
