Nigerian Army troops under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a daring early-morning terrorist infiltration attempt from the Mandara Mountains into Bitta, eliminating numerous insurgents in the process.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, the clash unfolded on December 18, 2025. Vigilant troops, bolstered by cutting-edge surveillance technology, spotted the terrorists advancing and engaged them decisively. Among the neutralised fighters were a high-value terrorist commander and his cameraman.
As the remnants fled, the Air Component launched precision airstrikes, shredding escape routes and inflicting heavy losses. A follow-up sweep of the battlefield yielded a trove of terrorist gear: AK-47 rifles, PKT machine guns, bandoliers, 11 loaded AK-47 magazines, handheld radios, seven mobile phones, GPMG ammunition belts, motorcycles, bicycles, and a camcorder.
Evidence of further devastation included blood trails and shallow graves, indicating substantial terrorist casualties from both ground fighting and aerial bombardment.
