Verse of the Day

This psalm is attributed to David, who often experienced both deep struggles and great victories. In this verse, David acknowledges God as the source of his light, strength, and hope.

The imagery of a lamp represents life, direction, and purpose. When God “keeps the lamp burning,” it means He sustains us—even when circumstances try to dim our strength or hope. There may be seasons of darkness—confusion, hardship, or uncertainty—but God has the power to turn that darkness into light.

This is not just poetic language—it is a spiritual truth. God brings clarity where there is confusion, joy where there is sorrow, and hope where there is despair. No situation is too dark for His light to penetrate.

For daily living, this verse reminds us that our light does not come from ourselves. It comes from God. When we stay connected to Him, our lives remain illuminated, and we can move forward with confidence, even in uncertain times.

Prayer

Lord God,

Thank You for being the light in my life. When I feel weak or uncertain, keep my lamp burning.

Turn every form of darkness in my life into light—confusion into clarity, fear into faith, and sorrow into joy. Help me to trust in You as my source of strength and direction.

Let Your light shine through me so that others may see Your goodness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
