The Federal Road Safety Corps has disowned viral publications and notices circulating on social media regarding an ongoing recruitment exercise, warning members of the public against falling victim to employment syndicates and fraudsters.
The Corps clarified that it has not opened any employment portal, nor has it authorised third-party recruiters or agents to conduct screening on its behalf.
The clarification followed an official advisory issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, addressing multiple misleading messages shared across digital platforms.
According to Ogungbemide, the clarification became necessary due to calculated attempts by syndicates targeting unsuspecting applicants.
"This medium is to let the public know that the Corps is not recruiting at the moment, nor is there any ongoing arrangement to that effect," Ogungbemide stated, emphasising that genuine recruitment drives are always open and accessible.
He quoted the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, as admonishing applicants and the wider public to disregard the viral advertisements entirely.
The agency noted that its authentic enlistment drives are conducted transparently and are published exclusively through national daily newspapers, major television networks, the official portal at frsc.gov.ng, verified social media handles, and the National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM.
The Corps reiterated that legitimate enlistment does not involve processing fees or financial gratification, urging citizens to report suspicious recruitment solicitations to law enforcement authorities or the nearest FRSC command.
"The public is by this publication warned to desist from any form of engagement with the purported scammers and purveyors of the misinformation as the Corps will not be liable should anyone fall victim," Ogungbemide concluded.
