The people of Ganye Local Government Area have issued a protest notice scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, demanding representation in the Adamawa State House of Assembly. The protest comes after a year-long vacancy in the assembly seat following the death of their elected representative, Hon. Abdulmalik Jauro Musa, who passed away on May 24, 2024, while receiving medical treatment abroad.
The protest notice, signed by Abdulrahman Njidda, a leader of the concerned citizens, calls on patriotic residents to join a peaceful demonstration aimed at urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a bye-election to fill the vacant seat. The protesters plan to gather at the Ganye Local Council roundabout at 6:00 a.m., proceed to Atiku Junction by 7:00 a.m., and then move to the INEC office at 8:00 a.m. to deliver their protest letter.
The organizers emphasized that the protest will be peaceful, with security operatives on hand to prevent any disruption or infiltration by hoodlums. The absence of representation has left the people of Ganye feeling marginalized in the state's political affairs, prompting this call for urgent action from electoral authorities.
