The Nigeria U-17 women’s national football team, popularly known as the Flamingos, will regroup in Abuja on Sunday, September 7, 2025, to resume camping as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The World Cup is scheduled to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, marking the first of five consecutive editions to be hosted by the North African country.

Under the guidance of head coach Bankole Olowookere, the Flamingos have called up a squad of 30 players for the training camp. This group includes four goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and eight forwards.

The Flamingos secured their qualification for the 24-team tournament with convincing victories over South Africa and Algeria during the CAF qualifiers. The team enters the tournament as bronze medallists from the 2022 edition, aiming to improve on that success and make a strong impression on the world stage.

Matches for the World Cup will be contested across four key venues in the Moroccan cities of Rabat and Salé: the Prince Héritier Moulay el-Hassan Sports Complex, Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, Al Barid Stadium, and the Mohamed VI Football Academy. The camp in Abuja will focus on rigorous training and tactical preparations for the Flamingos as they look forward to representing Nigeria in the global competition.
