Governor Adeleke Urges Unity and Compassion in 2025 Christmas Message to Osun Residents

Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on the Christian faithful and the broader citizens of Osun State to embody the spirit of divine love and communal support as they celebrate the 2025 Christmas festivities. In a statement issued from Osogbo on Wednesday, the governor emphasised that the essence of the season lies in selfless giving and maintaining the peace that has characterised the state over the past year.

The Governor’s message, released through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, framed the birth of Jesus Christ as the ultimate symbol of God’s affection for humanity. Adeleke noted that the festive period should serve as a catalyst for residents to extend kindness beyond their immediate families, ensuring that the celebration reaches those on the margins of society.

Reflecting on the administrative journey of the past year, Governor Adeleke acknowledged the economic and social hurdles his government and the people have navigated together. He praised the resilience of the Osun people, stating that their unwavering faith has been a primary source of inspiration for his cabinet. The governor noted that the collective patience of the citizenry has allowed the state to continue laying a foundation for sustainable prosperity.

Gratitude formed a central pillar of the executive address. Governor Adeleke expressed his personal appreciation for the privilege of leadership and the gift of life while specifically thanking the religious community for their consistent prayers. He maintained that the spiritual support from various denominations has been vital in fostering the atmosphere of peace currently enjoyed across the three senatorial districts of the state.

A significant portion of the statement was dedicated to the welfare of the vulnerable. The Governor urged those with means to act as pillars of support for their neighbours, stressing that the true joy of Christmas is found in generosity. He argued that by strengthening these social bonds, the state becomes more unified and better equipped to handle the challenges of the coming year.

The Governor concluded his message with a prayer for peace and abundance in every home. He expressed optimism that the "light of Christ" would continue to guide the steps of the leadership and the followership alike. He also extended his best wishes for the upcoming New Year, promising that his administration remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy and infrastructural development.
